Gambling giants Caesars have joined forces with games publishers Electronic Arts (EA) to launch a new World Series of Poker app.
The play-for-fun product, which has been released on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, challenges players to win bracelets, rings and Pro status levels as well as access to VIP rooms where opponentsÂ' statistics can be unlocked.
A collaboration between Electronic ArtsÂ' EA Mobile division and Caesars Interactive Entertainment (CIE), the interactive arm of Caesars Entertainment Corporation, the app offers both Texas Hold'em and Omaha play as well as chat and virtual gift options.
The app is initially available from the iTunes App Store, with a Google Play release set for later in July.
Â"The World Series of Poker defines the ultimate poker experience and now EA is helping bring the virtual Vegas experience to our customers across multiple mobile devices worldwide,Â" said CIE chief financial officer Craig Abrahams.
EA senior vice president of social and mobile publishing Bernard Kim added: Â"We've taken the adrenaline rush of playing at the table and combined it with stats to help you anticipate your opponents' moves for a truly fun and competitive game that fans can play anytime.Â"
