The inaugural World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific reached the final table late last night (Sunday) with Brian Piccioli leading proceedings at the Crown Casino, Melbourne, Australia. He will start with 790,000 in chips after going on an amazing rush to finish Day 2. Joining Piccioli at the first ever AUD$1,100 No-Limit Hold'em Accumulator final table will be well-known poker pros Jeremy Ausmus, Jonathan Karamilikis, as well as Jonathan Duhamel, the 2010 WSOP Main Event champion.

Day 2 of Event #1 saw 144 players chasing the very first WSOP gold bracelet and the AUD$211,000 top prize.

The lead at the start of the day belonged to Antoine Saout who accumulated almost 105,000 chips during previous play. The former November Niner was followed by 2010 WSOP bracelet winner Dan Kelly with 82,000. Other stars of the game including Phil Hellmuth, Barry Greenstein and Eugene Katchalov were still in contention. They were joined by 2012 Octo-Niners Jesse Sylvia Ausmus, Jake Balsiger and Russell Thomas.

Hellmuth was gunning for his 14th WSOP bracelet but could only finish 20th in this tournament, missing out on the final table.

The top 90 finishers in WSOP Asia-Pacific were guaranteed a prize of at least AUD$2,452. The final table will begin at 2 p.m. local time in Melbourne.
