The World Series of Poker is in full swing and the latest news is that Norbert Szecsi has won Event #42: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em and the $345,037 prize money that accompanies it. Event #44: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em is far from over but at this stage Niall Farrell is leading proceedings after the end of Day 2.

Norbert Szecsi bested a starting field of 2,100 to take down the recent No-Limit Hold'em event and in the process more than doubled his previous live tournament earnings of $137, 207. His win represented one of the swiftest final tables of these championships, lasting just 132 hands and less than five hours.

Hungarian Szecsi was short stacked with only six players remaining but thanks to some good luck, he won three huge hands, catapulting him into poll position. This meant that half the chips in play now belonged to Szecsi and took just seven hands to dispatch Denis Gnidash heads-up.

Over at the $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em Farrell has built himself a chip lead going into day three and is one of only 22 players still left in the tournament. Close behind Farrell is Micahel Rocco and ominously for his opponents, Jason Mercier is still involved in proceedings. ItÂ's the first time the American hotshot has made Day 3 of 2013Â's WSOP and he will be desperately hoping that he can take the title after seeking action at 3 to 1 on winning a bracelet before the start of the Series.
