Mega Millions jackpot hits $240m

TonightÂ's Mega Millions jackpot has risen to $240m after no ticket matched all six numbers last week.

FridayÂ's draw saw one ticket match five numbers to win $1m, although the player in question didnÂ't manage to correctly predict the Mega Ball that would have scooped them $216m.

The winning numbers on Friday were 3-31-50-58-59 with a Mega Ball of 6.

Mega Millions tickets cost $1, with players picking five numbers between 1 and 56 alongside one number between 1 and 46.

For an extra $1 players in most participating states can purchase a Megaplier option which multiplies non-jackpot winnings by two, three, four or five.
