A children's charity and online bingo operator have joined forces to improve the lives of seriously and terminally ill children through charity bingo and a day of novelty fundraising, titled Wear Your Lucky Pants to Work Day.

Throughout June operator Lucky Pants Bingo will be offering games on their website that raise money for Starlight Children's Foundation, a national charity that puts a smile on the face of ill children by granting their wishes and providing entertainment in hospitals and hospices.

For one month Lucky Pants Bingo will be matching the jackpots won on the Starlight games offered on their site and donating them to the charity. On Wear Your Lucky Pants to Work Day, which falls on Wednesday June 25, there will also be a special bingo game to raise money for the cause.

Neil Swan, chief executive of Starlight Children's Foundation, said: "Every year Starlight brings fun and laughter to over 500,000 very poorly children. This year, with your support of the first ever Wear Your Lucky Pants to Work Day, we will be able to bring smiles to many more brave children."

Getting involved is easy. You could visit the Lucky Pants Bingo website and do your bit while playing your favourite game, donate directly to the charity via the details provided below, or organise Wear Your Lucky Pants to Work Day at your workplace. Ask your colleagues to pull on their luckiest undies (over or under their attire) before heading into the office, then organise an office collection for participants to donate.

The campaign also invites participants to send a selfie of themselves wearing their lucky pants at work and uploading it to Twitter with the hashtag '#workispants'.

Darren Sims, of Lucky Pants Bingo, said: "2014 is the first year for what we hope will become an annual day of fun and fundraising for Starlight Children's Foundation. It's easy to participate, and such a wonderful cause, we hope to see lucky pants everywhere.
