The new program will allow fan-voted bonuses to be paid out via bitcoin.

In a shocking move by the UFC, the company is finding a new way to provide fighters with bonuses and incentives. This time, it'll be teaming up with its official cryptocurrency partner, Crypto.com.

The UFC announced on Thursday that fans can begin this new bonus program during UFC 273 at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. The voting process will have fans place their votes on their favorite fighter of the night.

The payouts will cover the first, second, and third-place fighters. The first place fighter will receive $30,000 USD dollars in bitcoin, second place gets $20,000 in bitcoin, and third will get $10,000 in bitcoin.

At the moment, the program will only cover pay-per-view events and voting takes place on Crypto.com's website. Voting will begin at the start of the pay-per-view broadcast and will end one hour after the card ends.

UFC President Dana White said: "Crypto.com has been an official UFC partner for less than a year, and I'm telling you they are already one of the best partners we've ever had."

He continued: "They're constantly coming up with new ideas about how we can work together to connect with the fans. This new Fan Bonus of the Night is an awesome way to get fans more engaged in our events while rewarding the fighters for bad-ass performances."

The original bonuses are still in place in the UFC, two performance of the night bonuses and one fight of the night bonus. The total of bonuses given out by the UFC will now total over $100,000 with the addition of the "Fan Bonus of the Night".
