With three teams on the verge of elimination, let's get caught up on the games from yesterday.
A wild night of NBA action went down yesterday and we actually previewed each of them. We went two for three in terms of picks, but what we didn't expect was for all three teams on the verge of elimination to be eliminated.
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Toronto Raptors - Final Score: 132-97 in favor of the Philadelphia 76ers
This was the game that we predicted incorrectly, which was a shock to us. However, the 76ers came out quickly and overwhelmed the Raptors with offense. Led by Joel Embiid's 33 points, the 76ers were able to advance their team to the next round of the playoffs. However, they'll face one of the best defenses in the NBA when they take on the Miami Heat.
Phoenix Suns vs. New Orleans Pelicans - Final Score: 115-109 in favor of the Phoenix Suns
Devin Booker made his return for the Phoenix Suns in Game 6, but the real story is the performance of Chris Paul. Paul put up 33 points, shooting a perfect 14 for 14 last night. He also tallied eight assists to go along with an already spectacular game. Phoenix's next opponent will likely be much tougher than the Pelicans, they'll begin their series against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, May 2.
Dallas Mavericks vs. Utah Jazz - Final Score: 98-96 in favor of the Dallas Mavericks
The final game of the night was the Dallas Mavericks against the Utah Jazz. This was a defensive game with the Mavericks getting the edge at the end. Luka Doncic had 24 points on the night, but shot an awful 8 for 21. Considering they play the Suns in the next series, Doncic will need to be much better on offense. One of the questions we have is what will happen to the Utah Jazz in the offseason?
