NBA Playoffs Preview: Eastern & Western Conference Semifinals Game 1
Ricky Gray | May 2, 2022
Philadelphia versus Miami and Dallas versus Phoenix set for tonight.
Although the conference semifinals began yesterday, we have two other teams set for Game 1 of their series against each other. Let's get a quick look at the Philadelphia 76er vs. Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks vs. the Phoenix Suns.
Philadelphia 76ers at Miami Heat - 7:30 PM ET
The first game of the night will see the 76ers face off against the Miami Heat. Philadelphia made easy work of the Toronto Raptors in the first round, but that was before losing Joel Embiid. With Embiid out, Philadelphia will have to rely on James Harden and Tyrese Maxey to do the heavy lifting.
The Miami Heat could be without a few players as well, or at least have them on limited minutes. Jimmy Butler is on the day-to-day list and joins P.J. Tucker, Tyler Herro, Markieff Morris, and Caleb Martin. Each of these teams has suffered significant injuries, making this one a tough game to call.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Phoenix Suns - 10:00 PM ET
Following the game between the 76ers and Heat are the Dallas Mavericks versus the Phoenix Suns. The tale of the tape here is Luka Doncic versus Devin Booker. It's no secret that Dallas has one of the best defenses in the NBA, the question is, can they stop the Phoenix Suns. The Mavericks come in as 5.5-point underdogs in tonight's game.
The Suns have one of the highest-scoring offenses in the NBA, led by Devin Booker. As a team, they rank fifth overall in points per game (114.8). History also shows that they have an affinity for beating the Dallas Mavericks. In their last three games against Dallas, the Suns are 3-0 but have a 1-2 record against the spread.
