The $3.5m lawsuit states Urban Meyer verbally abused Lambo during the season.

Not long ago, former NFL head coach Urban Meyer was fired by the Jacksonville Jaguars. On Tuesday, news came out that former Jaguars kicker, Josh Lambo is suing the team for $3.5m in a misconduct lawsuit.

The lawsuit states that Urban Meyer created a hostile work environment, this story was originally reported by the Tampa Bay Times. The $3.5m lawsuits are for lost salary and additional damages.

This lawsuit also states that Lambo's performance on the field suffered after enduring verbal and physically abused by Meyer. It also claims that when Lambo stood up for himself, Meyer threatened to fire him. An employer striking an employee and threatening to repeat it in retaliation is illegal in Florida.

After being contacted, the Jaguars released a statement that was originally released in December: "Jaguars legal counsel indeed acknowledged and responded immediately to the query made by Josh Lambo's agent Friday, Aug. 27, 2021."

The statement continued: "Counsel offered to speak with Josh, or to assist Josh in speaking with coaching or any other football personnel if he was comfortable with her sharing the information. Any suggestion otherwise is blatantly false."

In a December 15 story by Tampa Bay Times, Lambo alleges that Meyer kicked him in the leg during warm-ups. Lambo also stated that Meyer said to him: "Hey Dips---, make your f---ing kicks!"

When Lambo told Meyer not to kick him again, Meyer is said to have replied: "I'm the head ball coach. I'll kick you whenever the f--- I want."

The Jaguars released Lambo in October of 2021, however, he still remains the most accurate kicker in Jaguars history. He made 91.6% of his kicks with the Jaguars and holds the team record for consecutive kicks made (24).

Meyer was fired by the Jacksonville Jaguars on December 16 after a 20-0 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Shortly after, other Jacksonville players came forward and noted his ineffectiveness as a head coach.
