Las Vegas Raiders and Hunter Renfrow agree to a $32m extension

The latest deal from Las Vegas locks in the wide receiver for two more years.

Today, the Las Vegas Raiders announced that Hunter Renfrow would be sticking around for two more seasons with the team. The total price of the extension hit $32m with $21m of it guaranteed which was confirmed by ESPN sources.

This deal keeps Renfrow with the Raiders and puts him alongside the recent addition of Davante Adams, who the Raiders signed in the offseason. Renfrow was in line for a new deal after nabbing 103 receptions last season.

This single-season receiving total put him in second place in Raiders history, just behind Hall of Fame wide receiver Tim Brown at 104. Renfrow also caught nine touchdown passes last season and led the Raiders in receiving yards.

Throughout his career, he's caught 208 passes for 2,299 yards with 15 touchdowns. Renfrow has been with the Raiders since being drafted in 2019, his accolades through his first three seasons earned him this contract.

The addition of Davante Adams actually bodes well for Renfrow's career. He'll still be playing out of the slot but most of the defensive attention will go to Adams. This will give Renfrow even more opportunities for receptions and yards.

For the Raiders, this is the team's third extension this year, after Derek Carr and Maxx Crosby. The team came in second in the AFC West last season with a record of 10-7. They went to the playoffs last season where they faced the Cincinnati Bengals in the Wild Card game. They lost 26-19 and the Bengals went on to play in the Super Bowl.

On September 11, the Raiders will open the season on the road against an AFC West rival, the Los Angeles Chargers. During that game, we'll get our first look at the new trio of Derek Carr, Davante Adams, and Hunter Renfrow.
