David Feherty, golfing voice for NBC reportedly leaving for LIV

Another golfing personality could be heading toward the growing league.

The Saudi-funded LIV Golf Invitational Series will likely see David Feherty join the group in the coming weeks. David Feherty is departing from NBC and is expected to join the breakaway tour as an analyst for eight to 10 tournaments annually.

Feherty has become a staple of NBC golf broadcasts and the Golf Channel since signing with the network in 2015. Both parties declined to comment on Feherty’s departure.

This is only the most recent move of this caliber for LIV Golf. The group already landed Arlo White as its host for tournaments, which are streamed on YouTube and the LIV website.

White was the Premier League play-by-play commentator for NBC before leaving for LIV earlier this year. With Feherty gone, NBC has quite a hole to fill for upcoming tournaments.

Another personality and former athlete, Charles Barkley, has agreed to meet with LIV Golf as well. The meeting is expected to detail an unspecified media role, however, no further details were provided.

LIV Golf receives a lot of negative attention due to it being funded by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. Still, the group is offering large purses and signing bonuses, which is why players are departing other tours.

Sergio Garcia is one of the golfers that have recently joined LIV Golf. Garcia has had to endure some intense words in regard to his agreement with LIV Golf.

Garcia said: “When Thomas Bjorn -- former Ryder Cup captain -- came to the BMW Championship and told us: 'We don't love any of you and all players say so.' ... I already have an age and had enough suffering to be enduring nonsense like that.”

It would seem that regardless of the negative attention, LIV Golf continues to attract personalities and golfers.
