Atlanta Braves at Boston Red Sox Betting Preview

Braves SP Charlie Morton will face off against a strong Red Sox lineup.

Today we have a few great games but one that we’re very interested in watching is the Atlanta Braves facing the Boston Red Sox.

The Braves have a record of 64-46 this season and have gone 27-24 on the road. Ranking second in the NL East, the Braves have lost three straight games, all to the New York Mets.

After these three straight losses, they’ll face a team that ranks among the best in batting average. The starting pitcher tasked with slowing them down is SP Charlie Morton.

Morton has a record of 5-5 this season with an ERA of 4.09 over the span of 116.2 innings. In that amount of time, Morton has thrown an impressive 134 strikeouts.

The Braves also have a pretty great batting group, with a team batting average of .249. They rank fifth in runs with 522 and third with a slugging percentage of .440.

The Boston Red Sox has the sixth-best batting average in MLB with a .253 average. They’re coming off of a 13-5 loss to the Kansas City Royals and lost the entire series 1-3.

On the mound for the Red Sox tonight is Rich Hill, who has a 4-5 record with an ERA of 4.52. Between the two teams, the Red Sox come in at a disadvantage in terms of pitching.

The real question here is whether or not the Red Sox’s batting group can get through the pitching of the Atlanta Braves. These two teams split their last series 1-1 but we think the Braves are the better team here.

Ricky’s Pick: Atlanta Braves -160, UNDER
