NBA Opening Night schedule revealed for 2022-23

 | August 19, 2022

A night full of rivalries is set to take place on Tuesday, October 18th.

The NBA season will officially begin on October 18, 2022, and will deliver a slew of games that are worth watching. Two teams that reached the NBA Finals will be involved in opening night.

The first game will see the Philadelphia 76ers travel to the Boston Celtics. The 76ers have been a long-standing rival and have a revamped team with Joel Embiid and James Harden.

The Boston Celtics, as many know, won the Eastern Conference last season before being quickly beaten by the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.

This matchup will be focused on Jayson Tatum and Al Horford against Harden and Embiid. Now that the 76ers have had time to mold together as a group, it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out.

The Celtics at home were a tough team to beat last season and we expect the same from them this year. Their defense was among the best in the NBA and they have a few shooters that the 76ers will have to worry about.

The other game on October 18 is the Los Angeles Lakers facing the Golden State Warriors. After receiving a sizable extension, LeBron James is back with the Lakers along with Anthony Davis.

They’re facing the team that won the Western Conference and the NBA Finals. The trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green are back in action.

The Lakers had a disappointing season last year, failing to make the playoffs. Considering the roster looks the same this season, we don’t expect much.

However, it’s still early and the Lakers have time to add a few new players to their roster. If they can go out and land a capable guard, they should be in good shape.

Still, the Golden State Warriors will likely come in as heavy favorites in this game. Frankly, between the two of them, the better bet is the Warriors.
