Toronto Blue Jays at Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

 | September 5, 2022

After sweeping the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Blue Jays are looking for another win.

The Toronto Blue Jays have a 73-59 record this season and are coming off of a 3-0 sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Tonight, they face an AL East rival in the Baltimore Orioles.

Toronto has gone 35-30 on the road this season and ranks third in the division. They’re only six games behind the New York Yankees, who currently lead the division.

On the mound for the Blue Jays tonight is Jose Berrios, who has a 9-5 record this season. His ERA of 5.32 is slightly concerning but the batters of the Blue Jays should help out.

This season, the Blue Jays have a team batting average of .259, one of the best averages in the league. They also have an on-base percentage of .325, which definitely will help them put up runs.

The Baltimore Orioles have a record of 71-62 and rank fourth in the division. A few wins against the Blue Jays could help them steal the third-place spot.

Mike Baumann will get the start for the Orioles, with a 4.50 ERA. He’s only pitched 12 innings this season but has a 1-2 record and has allowed one homerun.

Batting in Baltimore hasn’t gone over well this year. As a team, the Orioles have an average of .236 with an on-base percentage of .304.

There’s poor pitching for each of these teams but the Blue Jays have the better bullpen. Because of this, we’ll take Toronto on the road over the Baltimore Orioles.
