Broncos QB Russell Wilson says Seahawks tried to trade him before

Wilson stated his skills aren't diminished heading into his 11th NFL season.
Several quarterbacks found new homes during the offseason but none were more notable than the Russell Wilson trade.
Wilson stated, however, that the Seattle Seahawks tried to trade him in previous offseasons as well. Wilson said that this occurred during the 2018 season.
The Broncos acquired Wilson in March for five draft picks, including two first-rounders and two second-rounders, as well as three players.
In regard to the Seahawks trying to trade him previously, Wilson said: “Definitely they tried to, a couple of times, tried to see what was out there.
“It's part of the business, being a professional and everything else ... I believe in my talents, of who I am, I feel I'm one of the best in the world.”
Wilson went on to challenge some of the criticisms he’s faced. Although he’s 33 years old, Wilson isn’t worried about his skills diminishing.
He continued: “I don't worry about all that stuff, people can have opinions and thoughts and ideas, everyone has their own right to think what they want to think.
“I know how the whole thing went, how it transpired, just the whole situation.”
He was also asked about the kind of reception he expects when he plays in Seattle in Week 1.
Wilson added: “Seattle forever means the world to me. I loved it there, like I said, I played 10 years there, it was an amazing experience, I loved every second of it.
“I know they'll be rowdy. I know they'll be excited. It's Monday Night Football so it'll be a special environment. Listen, I think that I gave my heart and soul every day.”
The Denver Broncos will face the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, September 12, 2022.
