Giannis takes Greece into the Eurobasket quarterfinals

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 27 points and 10 rebounds as Greece advanced to a quarterfinal matchup with host Germany.
Staying busy during the NBA offseason, Antetokounmpo hit a 3-pointer with 31 seconds left sealing the win for Greece, which beat the Czech Republic 94-88.
Nick Calathes scored 14 points while Ioannis Papapetrou put up 13 and Kostal Sloukas added 10.
The Czech Republic’s Jan Vesely had 21 points on 10-for-13 shooting while 17 came from Vojtech Hruban, 12 points from Ondrej Balvin and Patrik Auda, and 11 from Jaromir Bohacik.
Two-time MVP Nikola Jokic and Serbia were one of the teams eliminated yesterday after being beaten by Italy 94-86.
Marco Spissu scored 22 points and Nicolo Melli added 21 for Italy, which got 19 from Simone Fontecchio and 16 from Achille Polonara.
Jokic led the Serbia team with 32 points and 13 rebounds. He made 8 of 14 shots from the field while his teammates combined to shoot 18-for-47 (38%).
Italy is set to face France in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
Finland will play Spain on Tuesday and seeks its first semifinal berth at the European championships in 17 appearances.
Lauri Markkanen made 19 of 29 shots from the field, scoring 26 of his points in the second half for a total of 43 for the Finland squad. This number marks ties the eighth-highest scoring performance in EuroBasket history.
He added nine rebounds while teammate Sasu Salin scored 17 points.
Bojan Bogdanovic scored 23 points for Croatia, which got 17 from Jaleen Smith, and 12 from Dario Saric.
