Kansas City Royals at Minnesota Twins Betting Preview
Ricky Gray | September 15, 2022
With one more win the Twins will sweep the three-game series.
After winning the last two games, the Minnesota Twins are looking to grab one more to close the series. With a 71-70 record, they’re third in the AL Central, behind the Chicago White Sox.
A win for the Twins would put them a step closer to taking the second-place spot in the division. Not long ago they were on top of the division but several strings of losses have seen them fall.
The Kansas City Royals have a record of 57-86 and aren’t in a position to make the postseason at all. However, they can make it harder for other teams to get to the postseason.
They’ll start Daniel Lynch on the mound, who is 4-10 this season with an ERA of 5.14. Through 112 innings, Lynch has thrown 105 strikeouts and allowed 17 home runs.
At the plate, the Royals have also had a bit of trouble, batting .241 this season. This is around the league average but they haven’t done well against the Twins.
Last night they suffered a 4-0 loss to Minnesota, failing to get a single runner across home plate. Tonight, they’ll need to find more ways to get runners on base if they want to win.
Dylan Bundy will get the nod to be the starting pitcher for the Twins tonight. Bundy has a record of 8-7 this season with a 4.68 ERA. He’s one of the more consistent batters in their lineup.
As a team, the Minnesota Twins have a batting average of .249 and an on-base percentage of .319. Over their last five games, the Twins have gone 2-3 due to poor pitching.
Bundy’s good and the Twins batters are currently in a groove, so we’ll take them at -170.
Ricky’s Pick: Minnesota Twins -170, UNDER
