Los Angeles Dodgers at San Francisco Giants Betting Preview

 | September 16, 2022

SP Dustin May (Dodgers) gets the start in this NL West matchup.

After a 5-3 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Los Angeles Dodgers are heading out to San Francisco. With a 98-44 record, the Dodgers are only two games away from 100 wins.

They already have a firm lead on the NL West but that doesn’t mean they’ll slow down. The Dodgers are 4-1 in their last five games and lead the division by 21 games.

On the mound for Los Angeles today is Dustin May, who has a 1-2 record as a starter with a 4.29 ERA. May has had some struggles but he’s definitely a good starting pitcher.

He also has a strong batting lineup behind him that can help out. Mookie Betts leads the team with 34 home runs and a .275 batting average.

As a team, the Dodgers have a batting average of .260, one of the best in the league. With an on-base percentage of .336, the Dodgers definitely have a good shot at winning this game.

The San Francisco Giants shouldn’t be counted out too early, however. They’re going to send out Logan Webb, who has an ERA of 2.88 and a 13-8 record this season.

Currently third in the NL West with a record of 69-74, the Giants have won four of their last five games. Two of those four wins were against the Atlanta Braves including a recent 4-1 win.

At the plate, the Giants have an average of .232, far behind the Dodgers at .260. This season, the Giants are 4-12 against the Dodgers, so this one’s a pretty simple pick for us.
