The series is currently tied at 1-1, who will break the tie tonight?
With the series currently tied at 1-1 both the San Diego Padres and Philadelphia Phillies are looking to grab the lead.
As always, this is far easier said than done as each of these teams has a remarkable roster. The Phillies lost 8-5 last night but keep in mind that they were on the road.
They won the first game of the series against the Padres which is a remarkable start to the series. Now, the next three games are at home and could give them the chance to end it.
To do this, the Phillies would have to win three games in a row and the opportunity is there for the Padres as well.
Getting the start on the mound for the Padres is Joe Musgrove. Musgrove went 10-7 during the regular season with a 2.93 ERA and threw 184 strikeouts during that time.
With Musgrove on the mound, the Padres definitely have a solid chance to win this game on the road. The question is, can they subdue the Phillies batters or outscore them like they did yesterday?
Ranger Suarez is getting the nod to start the game for the Philadelphia Phillies tonight. He also had a 10-7 record during the regular season and had an ERA of 3.65.
He ranked 73rd in Major League Baseball with 129 strikeouts but he’s a left-handed pitcher which is tough for batters to hit off.
With a team batting average of .253 this season, the Phillies are our pick for their first home game of this series. It’ll be a close one but we think they’ll win it in the end.
