Things are going from bad to worse in Las Vegas with the latest news.
Two targets for Derek Carr of the Las Vegas Raiders have been placed on Injured Reserve on Thursday afternoon.
Both Waller and Renfrow will miss at least four games, starting with Sunday's game against the Colts, and will not be eligible to return until December 8.
After both players were listed as “limited” in practice on Wednesday, they were moved to the IR on Thursday. Waller suffered a hamstring injury while Renfrow deals with a rib injury.
Waller explained that he’s frustrated with his injury, stating: “It's not like I'm doing anything to keep myself off the field willingly.
“I'm doing everything that I can. It just may not be happening in the timetable that I'd like for that to happen.’
Both Waller and Renfrow have had a steep decline from their performances last season. Originally, the Raiders were expected to have an incredible offense this season with the addition of Davante Adams.
However, the Raiders are off to a 2-6 start this season but we wouldn’t put the sole blame on their offense.
In fact, you could place most of the blame on their poor defense. On average, the Raiders are allowing 25.1 points per game and rank 28th in the NFL.
Although it’s unfortunate that they’re losing two targets for Carr to throw to, it doesn’t matter much since they can’t stop their opponents at all.
They face the Indianapolis Colts this weekend at home and another loss could put Head Coach Josh McDaniels’ job in jeopardy.
If they find a way to get a win, he’ll be safe for another week.
