Anthony Davis has the Lakers trending in the right direction.
The Los Angeles Lakers are coming into tonight’s game against the Phoenix Suns with a record of 5-10. Still, well under .500 but they’re on the right track, that much is certain.
The team has struggled through the first part of the season but they’re in the right mindset after three consecutive wins, one of which was against the Brooklyn Nets.
Leading the charge is Anthony Davis, who put up 30 points and 18 rebounds in the Lakers 123-92 win over the San Antonio Spurs.
Tonight, he’ll be tasked with leading the Lakers against the Phoenix Suns, who have an 8-1 record at home this season.
As a team, the Los Angeles Lakers are averaging 111.1 points per game. Over the last three games, however, they’ve increased it to 122.3.
As we mentioned, this is all thanks to Anthony Davis who has stepped up in the absence of LeBron James, who’s still listed as “out” for tonight’s game.
Davis leads the team with 25.6 points per game while Russell Westbrook leads the team in assists per game with 7.7. These two working in tandem have been a problem for their opposition.
The Phoenix Suns are without a few key players tonight, something to definitely keep in mind. Point guard Chris Paul has been ruled out along with shooting guard Landry Shamet.
It’s been a good year so far for the Suns, especially when playing at home. However, we think Davis will continue the winning streak with another win on the road tonight.
