Justin Herbert will look to lead his team over .500 with a win here.
The Los Angeles Chargers have a 5-5 record heading into this weekend. They’re up against some good competition too as they face the Arizona Cardinals.
The Arizona Cardinals have a record of 4-7 and desperately need a win after suffering a tough loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Both of these teams are coming off of a loss to a division rival, the Chargers recently were taken down by the Kansas City Chiefs, 30-27.
What Los Angeles is known for is its stellar offense which averages 22.7 points per game. Unfortunately, their defense is one of the worst in the NFL.
Ranked 29th in the NFL, the Chargers allow an average of 25.8 points per game. If they allow that many points again, they’ll likely lose their sixth game of the season.
This is their second straight loss, after recently losing to the San Francisco 49ers. They lost 22-16 so they have that in common with the Arizona Cardinals as well.
Going 2-3 in their last five games isn’t a great look for the Chargers who plenty expected to be really good this year. However, their defense can not find a way to stop their opponent.
Although they’re only three-point favorites in this game, we still have a lot of questions as to whether they’re actually capable of covering.
It hasn’t been revealed whether or not Kyler Murray will play for the Arizona Cardinals, so expect a game-time decision there.
However, even if he’s out, the Cardinals should be able to mount a few significant drives against the Chargers. The question is, can they sustain these drives through the entire game?
In our opinion, the answer is no, so we’ll take the Chargers at -3.
