The Brooklyn Nets point guard's signature shoe was scrapped in November.

Initially, Nike only suspended its partnership with Kyrie Irving but now the partnership between the apparel company and the Nets’ point guard has been officially terminated.

Irving’s agent, Shetellia Riley Irving has called the decision mutual.

She told CNBC on Monday: “We have mutually decided to part ways and wish Nike the best in their future endeavors.

The signature endorsement agreement with the company was originally set to expire on October 1, 2023, but it was suspended 11 months before expiring.

Nike Co-Founder Phil Knight commented: “Kyrie stepped over the line. It's kind of that simple. He made some statements that we just can't abide by, and that's why we ended the relationship. I was fine with that.”

Around 68% of the NBA wears Nike sneakers in games, to date, 164 players have worn the Kyrie 7 in games according to data from KixStats.com.

Kyrie’s deal was Nike's second-most lucrative current player franchise in recent years, only behind LeBron James' signature series.

Irving tweeted: “Anyone who has [ever] spent their hard-earned money on anything I have ever released, I consider you FAMILY and we are forever connected.

“It's time to show how powerful we are as a community.”

Nike is not expected to instruct or request that current NBA players will stop wearing Kyrie-branded shoes, sources told ESPN.

Irving is technically a sneaker free agent and can sign a new endorsement deal with a new sponsor, providing someone looks to sign him.

If a sponsor steps up, they’ll likely face backlash from some of Irving’s comments.
