Intriguing NFL prop bets for 2025-2026 rookies

FanDuel is currently offering wagers such as Travis Hunter to record at least 75 receptions and two interceptions, or Ashton Jeanty to finish with over 1075 rushing yards on the year.

Following the 2025 NFL Draft in late April, bettors looking to take advantage of the new crop of talented rookies immediately went to operators such as FanDuel for props and wagers on players like Travis Hunter, Ashton Jeanty and Cam Ward, all of whom are set to make an immediate impact on the league. In Hunter’s case especially, the dynamic threat can line up on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball, having played wide receiver and cornerback for Jackson State and Colorado University. The dual-threat capabilities certainly paid off for the 22-year-old, having finished with over 2,000 receiving yards and nine interceptions over a three-year stint at the collegiate level.

The unrivaled production led to the Jacksonville Jaguars trading up to second overall with the Cleveland Browns during the 2025 NFL Draft, sending away the fifth overall pick and multiple draft assets in order to select Hunter. Jacksonville will now pair its new dual-threat weapon with quarterback Trevor Lawrence and second-year wideout Brian Thomas Jr. to create a genuine identity on the offensive side of the ball.

On defense, however, the Jaguars have been disappointing for quite some time, but now have Hunter, former first overall pick Travon Walker, defensive end Josh Hines-Allen and cornerback Tyson Campbell to form a nucleus of young talent. With Lawrence, Hunter and Thomas Jr. leading an offense now gameplanned by head coach Liam Coen, the Jaguars will be hoping its newly appointed leader can revive a group that has failed to excite the fanbase since 2022.

If one were to believe Hunter will excel at the professional level right away, he is currently +250 on FanDuel to record at least 75 receptions and two interceptions throughout the regular season. The 75 receptions may come as a challenge given Thomas Jr. finished 2024 with 87 catches, 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns, but Hunter is seen as more of a talented prospect than his teammate coming into the league and Coen has already confirmed the dual-athlete will begin learning offense first.

While the slow transition to defense could also pose a threat to the two interceptions needed, Hunter will be competing in a division with quarterbacks such as Anthony Richardson, who is still working on his accuracy heading into year three, and Ward, a rookie most likely prone to mistakes before finding his footing in the NFL. The best quarterback in the division is Houston Texans signal-caller CJ Stroud, a former second overall pick in his own right, and even he is coming off a disappointing 2024 campaign which saw Stroud commit 14 turnovers during the regular season. If Hunter can take advantage of the AFC South’s poor offenses and become situated within the Jaguars offense prior to week one, the +250 odds offered by FanDuel may become favorable in no time for bettors.

Having touched on Ward earlier, the number one overall pick from the 2025 NFL Draft will need time to adjust to the professional level, but is still seen as a potential savior of the Tennessee Titans franchise after throwing for over 4,300 yards and 39 touchdowns with the Miami Hurricanes last season. Ward spent five years in college including stints with Miami, Washington State and Incarnate Word, but previous examples of long-term collegiate players excelling in the NFL have been proven in recent time, especially with 2024 standouts Bo Nix and Jayden Daniels. Daniels won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award while both he and Nix brought their respective franchises to the postseason in year one, as each spent five seasons in college before eventually declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft.

It should be noted Daniels and Nix would most likely have been seen as superior, or at the very least equal prospects as Ward despite being taken lower than first overall, while the Titans also fail to feature a supporting cast similar to either the Broncos or Commanders. Ward will have the chance to play with wideouts Calvin Ridley and Tyler Lockett, but this duo fails to live up to having a Courtland Sutton or Terry McLaurin type of wide receiver such as what Nix and Daniels received in their rookie years.

Both also have highly regarded play callers in Sean Payton and Kliff Kingsbury, while Ward is led by second-year head coach Brian Callahan, who failed to get the most out of former starter Will Levis in his first season with the Titans. On FanDuel, the first overall pick is -114 to throw for over 3200 yards this season, which could be in play given the opportunity Ward should see to develop his arm in the NFL. He is also -132 to throw at least 19 touchdowns this season, which would certainly represent an impressive start to a hopeful future for Titans faithful.

Jeanty should not be forgotten about as well, given the Heisman Trophy runner-up (Hunter took home the award in 2024-2025) will have his fair share of opportunity to barrel over defenders under head coach Pete Carroll and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. Kelly is coming off a one-year stop at Ohio State where he helped the Buckeyes offense become a championship-winning unit, including two 1,000 yard running backs in TreyVeon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins. The duo of Kelly and Jeanty could be lethal for Raiders opponents looking to stop the ground game, as Jeanty rushed for over 2,600 yards and 29 touchdowns during his final season with the Boise State Broncos.

FanDuel is currently offering odds of -114 for Jeanty to eclipse 1075 yards rushing throughout the 2024-2025 regular season, which almost seems too low on the part of the operator given Las Vegas spent a sixth overall draft pick on the backfield beast. Running backs are scarcely taken within the first 10-15 picks of the NFL Draft, let alone at sixth overall, so it would make sense the Raiders will look to get the most out of Jeanty as quickly as possible. As he is already seen as one of the top running backs to draft in fantasy football as well, it is clear the Raiders will give its new prized rookie all the opportunity in the world to cash in on his -114 odds for bettors.
