Excalibur has finally been released, featuring themes and imagery from the iconic Excalibur Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
BetMGM has launched its latest slot, Excalibur, bringing us back to both the Medieval period and the 90s all at once. If you’re wondering what we mean by that, we’ll explain a little further below.
Excalibur was created by Win Studios, one of the in-house studios at Entain, specifically for the BetMGM online platform. While there is a limited period of time where it will be exclusive for players in New Jersey and Michigan, there are plans to expand it into further jurisdictions in the future.
The game itself is a blend of a few different aesthetics, as described earlier. While the imagery is based on the Excalibur Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, the slot game has an undeniable SNES RPG feel to it, with some of the aspects feeling like they could’ve come straight out of Soul Blazer or Arcana.
This isn’t the first collaboration between Excalibur Hotel and BetMGM either. Not only are the iconic castle spires in the BetMGM Excalibur game, but in a twist, the BetMGM sportsbook is inside the real-world Excalibur too. This might not be surprising to some, as Excalibur Hotel is operated by MGM Resorts International, but it feels like a nice touch all the same.
For players who are interested in the specifics, thankfully the game itself is pretty simple. Excalibur is a five-reel, 20-line slot with wild and scatter symbols with 243 different ways to win.
There’s also a bonus round feature, called the Tournament of Champions, which will trigger when you land six or more casino chips across the reels. Each chip that lands in the base game will earn you a free spin, too!

There are also four different tiers of jackpots for players to win. These progressive jackpots start off at Mini, and run through Minor and Major until the final Grand tier at the top.
The symbols at Excalibur keep in with the royal theme too. There are a few different types of crowns, rings and even castles as the wilds.
Excalibur isn’t the only hotel-themed game from BetMGM either. Previously, BetMGM has launched Luxor Fortunes, based on Luxor Hotel & Casino; Bellagio Fountains of Fortune, with the famous Bellagio fountains; and MGM Grand Millions, which has the property’s iconic golden lion.
