Catherine Duff became so consumed with her online bingo addiction that she stole money from her partner Carolyn Wilson. The problems started when Duff lost all of her money wagering online bets until she was eventually forced to acquire some money from illicit sources in order to fund her habit. After running up debts on five of WilsonÂ's credit cards Duff was caught by her lover, but even that didnÂ't stop her from using her partnerÂ's identity to get more money. Initially after being caught Duff agreed to pay the money back, but then went on to pose as Wilson in order to obtain a further £13,000 from remortgaging her house.

In total, Miss Wilson was left with debts of £52,286. Duff will now spend the next year behind bars after being convicted of eight charges of fraud and theft at Manchester Crown Court. Speaking after the trail Wilson said: "I thought our relationship was built on trust and love. If Catherine was in trouble with gambling she should have told me instead of going behind my back and using my property to feed her habit." Wilson is now tasked with sorting out the mess left behind by Duff and says she feels Â"sick to her stomachÂ" over the incident.
