Poker for the Homeless has returned with a two-day poker festival.
The organisation, which raises funds for homeless charities across Ireland, are to host an event at The Jackpot Club in Dublin on 5-6 April.
The festival, which is being sponsored by online poker room PaddyPowerPoker.com, will raise money for the Brother Kevin at the Capuchin Day Centre in the Irish capital.
The opening tournament, scheduled for 5 April at 9pm, is a €100 + €10 buy-in no-limit holdÂ'em freezeout, with 20% of the prize pool donated to Poker For The Homeless.
Saturday 6 April plays host to a €400 + €40 no-limit holdÂ'em team event, with €20 per person (€80 per team) donated to Poker For The Homeless.
Paddy Power Poker will also be giving away goodies as spot prizes throughout the weekend.
Event attendees will include a number of long-time patrons, including former World Series of Poker champion Noel Furlong, World Series bracelet winner Donnacha OÂ'Dea, former world snooker champion Ken Doherty and former Irish rugby international Reggie Corrigan.
Festival ambassador Padraig Parkinson said: Â"ItÂ's been three years since we last ran a Poker For the Homeless weekend and itÂ's great to be back.
Â"The number of homeless and desperate people being helped by Brother Kevin and the Capuchin Day Centre has increased in this time.Â"
Â"While things are not easy for anyone in the current economic crisis we know the poker community is a tight knit one and one with a strong tradition of giving so we look forward to a great turnout and some great craic along the way!Â"
Poker For The Homeless has raised almost €250,000 in the past seven years for homeless charities across Ireland.
