Mega Millions jackpot hits $400m

TonightÂ's Mega Millions jackpot has risen to $400m after no ticket matched all six numbers last week.

FridayÂ's draw saw five tickets match the five main numbers to win an initial $1m, three of which had also purchased the Megaplier option which increased their prize threefold.

However no-one also corrected predicted the Mega Ball which would have scooped them $353m.

The winning numbers on Friday were 7-20-40-54-69 with a Mega Ball of 12.

Mega Millions tickets cost $1, with players picking five numbers between 1 and 75 alongside one number between 1 and 15.

For an extra $1 players in most participating states can purchase a Megaplier option which multiplies non-jackpot winnings by two, three, four or five.
