The golf circuit is looking to broadcast its various events finally.
Golfweek cited multiple sources and reported that LIV Golf is nearing a deal to buy airtime on Fox Sports, the channel you’d catch these events on is FS1.
LIV Golf is five events into its inaugural season, with three more scheduled before the year ends.
The organization will expand to 14 tournaments in 2023. According to Golfweek, it isn’t clear if the agreement with Fox Sports, once finalized, would begin this year or next.
At the moment, the events are only streamed on YouTube and the tour's website.
Earlier this month, Commissioner Greg Norman stated that LIV was talking to four potential media companies about a partnership.
LIV Golf on changed the format for its season-ending team championship at Trump National Doral Miami, scheduled from October 28-30.
The original format for the $50m championship included having just two teams on the course Sunday competing for a $16m winner's purse.
TV executives, however, wanted more players on the course in the final round, the tour tweaked its plans to include four four-man teams competing in stroke play in the final round.
A LIV golfer manager told ESPN that not having a media rights deal in place, whether it was network TV or streaming, was a big concern.
The agent said: “They said they're close. We have to get eyeballs on this.”
Several former PGA golfers have defected to LIV Golf, this includes past major champions Cameron Smith, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka and Bubba Watson.
The tournament still faces massive criticism for its involvement with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.
