The restricted free agent signed a $31m deal just before the season opener.
Although he missed the first two weeks of preseason practice, Robertson signed a $31m, four-year contract through the 2025-26 season.
Robertson is expected to rejoin the team on Friday afternoon.
On Thursday afternoon, he said: “It's definitely relief ... had the little jitters that the season's going to start soon, and I'm going to be part of it.”
A $3m bonus will supplement this season, Robertson's $1.5m base salary at signing. His base salary will be $8m in 2023-24, $9.2m in 2024-25 and $9.3m in the final season.
Last season, Robertson had 41 goals and 38 assists in 74 games. He led the team with power-play goals last year as well (13).
The goals he scored during the 2021-22 season joined Hockey Hall of Famer Mike Modano, Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin as the only 40-goal scorers since the franchise moved to Dallas in 1993.
General Manager Jim Nill said: “Jason is an integral part of the present and future of our team and we're thrilled to have him for the next four years.”
Robertson has 125 points (58 goals, 67 assists) in his 128 NHL games.
Nill continued: “Since he was drafted by our organization, he has worked tirelessly to become a better player every day. His knack for scoring goals and seeing plays develop on the ice are just some of the tremendous assets that he brings to our team.
“He is one of the best young players in the NHL, and we look forward to seeing him continue to progress.”
In his rookie season, Robertson had the second-highest point total for a Stars rookie in franchise history.
