Saints considering a change at QB

Andy Dalton hasn't performed up to par for head coach Dennis Allen.
At the moment, the New Orleans Saints are considering benching current starting quarterback Andy Dalton, and for good reason.
Dalton has underperformed for most of his NFL career but he’s really taken a step back as the quarterback for the Saints.
In their most recent game, the Saints lost 20-10 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Part of this was due to Dalton’s 174-passing-yard game with two interceptions.
Jameis Winston is a candidate to start against the Los Angeles Rams this week but no decision has been announced.
Winston spent a significant portion of this season dealing with injuries and they likely don’t want to rush him back out onto the field.
Saints Head Coach Dennis Allen said: “I think we've gotta look at everything. Yeah, I think we've gotta look at everything. And that will be a process we go through today and tomorrow as we get ready for the Rams.”
Through back-to-back weeks, the Saints have scored a total of 23 points. Dalton being the starter was contingent on his performance, which has been lackluster.
Allen continued: “And we haven't been doing as well the last couple of weeks. So, I think we've gotta evaluate that. I think that's something that we need to look at.”
For Winston to start, he’ll have to clear several medical hurdles. Allen admitted that although Winston is healthy enough to play, he’s definitely not 100%.
He added: “I feel like I think we probably have to visit with him a little bit in terms of that or visit with the medical staff in terms of that.
“I think Jameis said this the other day, I don't know that he's ever gonna be 100% healthy this season. But he's in here every day, he's in here every morning working with the trainers, getting himself ready. And I feel like he's closer to being there.”
