Can the New York Giants pull off a huge upset on Thanksgiving?
The New York Giants have an impressive 7-3 record and are tied for second place in the NFC East. Today, they’ll face the Dallas Cowboys who have the same record as them.
In order to win this game, the Giants will have to be at a peak performance level. If they’re not, they’ll find themselves suffering a similar loss as they did last week.
Coming off a 31-18 loss to the Detroit Lions, the New York Giants need to find a way to bounce back and it starts with running the ball well.
Saquon Barkley, the starting running back, is one of the best in the NFL and needs to get off to a fast start. It’s not just the Giants offense that needs to be good tonight, however.
New York needs to focus its efforts on stopping Cowboys running back Tony Pollard, who has had an incredible season.
As a defense, the Giants are allowing 135.9 rushing yards per game but they’re only allowing 20.4 points per game. We know for a fact, however, that “bend but don’t break” defenses don’t work against the Cowboys.
The Minnesota Vikings tried to use that defense last week and it resulted in a 40-3 win for the Cowboys. If the Giants try that approach, they’ll quickly be outscored by the Cowboys.
Dallas’ offense isn’t the only facet of their game either, as they’re allowing just 16.7 points per game. They’re one of the best teams in the league at controlling the pace of the game as well.
The question is, can the Cowboys cover a 10-point spread at home this season? They beat the Vikings by 37 points and beat the Chicago Bears by 20.
We’d say the Cowboys will be just fine against the Giants this afternoon.
